Description

I am officially in love with my markers. I don't know why I stopped using them, but now that I'm back with a bit more color theory and experience under my belt... ooooooh baby.

Colored pencils cannot do Spiderman justice. Markers- good, high-quality markers- are what's really needed to get the richly saturated colors right.

So yeah. After inking the lines on this, I decided on a whim to dig out my old ZIG Memory System Twin Tip markers, which I rarely touch. Mom gave me the sets years ago, probably hoping that I'd use them in pursuit of scrapbooking as a hobby. (I love my mom =p But I leave the scrapbooking up to her. My other major artistic disappointment to her was not taking up watercolors. I prefer acrylics) Since the markers are so old, I wasn't expecting them to work, but apparently ZIG makes some damn good markers. They worked like a charm, and pretty much from the minute I started coloring Spidey there I was in love. Absolutely in love.

I'll be digging these markers out again. :D

For now, Otto is foiled in his escape by the friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Spidey and Ock are in marker, the background in colored pencil.

Excellent vision. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile) - :)"/> I love the perspective on this. I love how original it is, in that he has the tritium in his hand while taking off, not just holding it in a still pose.

I love your coloring technique. I love how the tentacles seem to have depth to them with the shading.

It needs more 'shadows' but, other wise it's really good. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile) - :)"/>
I don't really see any shadows but a few for darkened areas. I love the coloring on Spider-man, although his body looks a bit feminine in the way it bends. I'm not seeing alot of muscles. He still looks very good though.
